Join us for a transformative evening as we harness the energy of the New Moon—a time for setting intentions, renewal, and deep rest. This special class combines the calming practices of Restorative Yoga, the meditative journey of Yoga Nidra - often called "yogic sleep," and the healing power of Aromatherapy to create space for inner reflection and restoration.
Throughout the class, we'll explore the astrology of the current New Moon, including the qualities of the zodiac sign and the themes it may invite as a meaningful framework for self-inquiry, intention-setting, and personal growth.
To enhance your experience of the restorative practice, Emilie will gently waft therapeutic essential oils over participants to support relaxation and deepen the experience, each scents chosen specifically for its qualities aligning with the New Moon’s energy.
Whether you’re looking to slow down, reflect, or set intentions for the lunar cycle ahead, this special class offers the perfect opportunity to unwind, recharge, and connect with your inner self. You'll also have time for quiet reflection and journaling, allowing you to capture any insights, intentions, or inspirations that arise during the practice.
Open to all levels. No prior experience necessary.
Bring a journal if you’d like to jot down any reflections or intentions!

The Yoga Sutras of Patañjali — From Concept to Lived Practice
The Yoga Sutras of Patañjali are the foundational text of yoga philosophy, offering a clear and practical map for understanding the mind, the nature of suffering, and the path toward inner freedom. They remind us that yoga is far more than postures; it is a disciplined and devotional practice of awareness, ethics, and discernment that transforms how we live, relate, and perceive reality. These teachings are subtle and layered, meant to be experienced through guidance, reflection, and lived application.
This 6-hour immersion is designed for yoga teachers and dedicated practitioners who feel called to deepen their relationship with yoga beyond asana. It is especially supportive for those who have completed a 200-hour training yet feel the philosophical teachings did not fully land, or for anyone who has read the Sutras but struggles to embody them or translate them into meaningful, modern practice. This workshop offers a grounded and accessible way to return to the text with clarity, depth, and community.
Together, we will explore the Yoga Sutras not as abstract philosophy, but as a living, breathing path. Through guided study, discussion, chanting, contemplative practices, and practical inquiry, participants will learn how to integrate these teachings into daily life, relationships, and teaching. The intention is not memorization, but true understanding so the wisdom of the Sutras naturally informs how you practice, how you teach, and how you move through the world.
Participants will receive clear and accessible breakdowns of each chapter of the Sutras with practical applications, guided yogic sādhanā practices that cultivate steadiness, devotion, and self-study, and lifestyle tools rooted in yogic philosophy to support living with greater awareness and integrity off the mat. The training also includes handouts, contemplations, and a shared space for dialogue and reflection, allowing the teachings to be fully digested and embodied within a supportive community.
This immersion is an invitation to move from doing yoga to truly living it, reclaiming the heart of the practice and deepening your understanding in a way that is authentic, grounded, and sustainable. Whether you are looking to strengthen your teaching or reconnect with your personal path, this is an opportunity to let the teachings finally take root.
Investment for the workshop is $188 and includes all study materials, guided practices, and integration tools to support your learning beyond the immersion.
All participants are required to purchase and bring a copy of The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali translated by Swami Satchidananda in order to attend and fully engage in the workshop.

Instructor
Giovanna (she/her) believes yoga is an invitation to connect to self by embodying curiosity, compassion, and presence. She views yoga practice as a lifelong exploration of what it means to be human: navigating change, embracing uncertainty, finding meaning, and cultivating a more authentic relationship to ourselves, others, and the world around us. She first discovered yoga in 2010 while living in New York City. Yoga became a space that offered a sense of grounding amidst the constant movement of city life. After moving to Portland in 2016, yoga became an anchor through transition and a pathway to community. Over the years, her practice has expanded beyond asana into meditation, breathwork, philosophy, mantra, and self-inquiry. Embodying yogic practice in this way continues to shape both her life and the way she shares yoga with others.
Giovanna has completed a 300-hour trauma-informed yoga teacher training and is currently earning her master’s degree in clinical Mental Health Counseling. Her guiding is deeply influenced by both yogic philosophy and existential psychology, and she loves exploring the places where these traditions naturally intersect.
Each class is thoughtfully woven around a theme inspired by yoga philosophy, anatomy, and the shared human experience. You can expect authenticity, intentional movement, moments of reflection, a thoughtful soundtrack, humor, and an open heart from Giovanna. Her hope is that students leave class feeling a little more grounded, a little more connected, and with a deeper trust in their own inner wisdom.
She is grateful to all her teachers and guides: Audra Carmine, Manorama, Christina Sell, Nancy Nomellini, and Chauna Bryant for all their incredible and deep wisdom.
